The BadLands Posse 4X4 Club was formed by a small group of Peace Officers who were also 4X4 enthusiast. A portion of those members were also amateur radio operators. These "Hams" recognized the limitations of CB communications which is the standard communication associated with this type of hobby. Those "Hams" convinced the small group who started the club the need and advantage to obtaining their amateur radio license. Since that time the club has grown and has several of its members with their ham tickets. The club has been able to incorporate two great hobbies into one. Because this club has went in the direction that it did we have members from various fields including active and retired police officers, firefighters, medical personnel, technical personnel, engineers, teachers and even pilots. These members are trained in emergency situations that include everything from emergency response and on scene activities, emergency communications and incident command center operations.
